April 2018

Unfortunately, the time has now come-the end of the program is finally here :(

Looking back at it, it doesn't feel like we have been here long. The beginning of the year seems a little fuzzy, but we've created so many memories together.

This month we had our very last block exam for Cell and Control mechanisms, which I thought went okay. We also finished up Endo and Cardiobio, which were some of my favorite courses during the year, but Med Pharm was still the best.

Since completing my hours last month, I didn't participate in any service learning opportunities this month. Instead, I decided to hang out with some of my classmates in the time remaining in this program because I knew that once April 28th came, they would be flying back home for good.

If you're reading this and trying to gauge how your time will be in this program, just know that it's been one of the best years of my life. The program was difficult at times, but it was worth the hard work, and you'll come into contact with some of the best resources you could ever think of. I can't thank our professors and program directors enough for their help inside and outside of the classroom.

When I first thought that I had to take a gap year, I wasn't happy and thought I'd actually be behind on my path to becoming a physician. I can honestly say now that it's been a blessing in disguise because I came into contact with some of the best faculty members. I also was able to take a medical school course with the 2nd year medical students, helping me build a good foundation before entering medical school.

It's been a pleasure informing you of my year, and I hope it's been equally enjoyable for you.

Cheers,

-Joshua
